Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a material handler line leader position at a manufacturing company is Danbury, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $23.67 an hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, move material in and out of pallet racks using material handling equipment
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and peripheral equipment to accurately move material between designated storage locations
- Bin label creation and proper application to materials
- Load and unload trucks
- General housekeeping including disposal of cardboard, trash and lumber to appropriate dumpsters
- Take inventory counts as required by stock policy
- Repack and storage of materials to specified stock locations
- Cooperate with other teams
- Execute physical inventory counts
- Use scales for weight counting
- Act as primary interface between material handling staff and production/customizing departments
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancy
- Coordinate work assignments
- Serve as mentor and role model to team
- Provide staff assessment input between line leader and group leader
- Serve as backup for group leader
- Perform basic Warehouse Management Systems troubleshooting
- Perform basic SAP transactions
- Assist in warehouse functions including but not limited to inventory cycle counts
- Promote and maintain a safe and clean workplace and working environment
- Temporary assignments as floater
Job Requirements:
- At least 3 years shipping experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Material handling equipment experience; previously forklift certified
- In-depth knowledge of WMS transactions pertaining to material handling
- Reading and writing language skills necessary for making & reading labels
- Able to deal with time constraints and deadlines; manipulating multiple priorities; self-actuated and sense of urgency
- Organizational skills to get proper parts to assemblers on time
- Able to hand physical aspects of the job, including heavy lifting
- Able to work overtime, as needed
