Hamilton Connections is looking for a warehouse associate/driver for a distributor of plumbing, HVAC and piping products in Port Chester, NY.
The warehouse associate/driver is responsible for day-to-day warehouse functions, ensuring accurate inventory management, and delivering products to customers in a timely, safe and professional manner. Candidates must have a clean driving record. This is a temp-to-perm position.
The hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $17-$21 an hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Load, secure, and deliver customer orders using company vehicles (typically box trucks or pick-up truck)
- Verify products against packing slips or invoices during delivery
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including timely communication of any issues
- Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery as required
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks
- Report any vehicle problems or delivery discrepancies promptly
- Receive, inspect and stock incoming inventory accurately
- Pick, pack and stage orders for customer delivery or pickup
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment
- Perform routine inventory counts and assist with cycle counting
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Coordinate with inside sales and purchasing teams regarding stock levels and order fulfillment
- Ensure all shipping and receiving documents are completed accurately
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Support counter/inside sales team as needed with customers coming in or on the phone
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to pass a DOT Physical
- 1–3 years of experience in warehouse or delivery roles, preferably in wholesale distribution
- Forklift certification a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer skills (ERP/WMS systems a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical labor, position involves frequent standing and/or sitting for long periods, manual dexterity, stooping and bending
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must be dependable, have impeccable attendance and be a team player
- Must be able to adapt to various work situations and be able to think on your feet
- Must possess a positive attitude and behave professionally at all times
- Able to work flexible hours as needed
