Hamilton Connections is seeking bilingual (English and Spanish) candidates for a shipping lead position at a manufacturing company in Danbury, CT. This is a temp-to-hire position.
The shipping lead monitors operators and contract workers, verifies and keeps records on incoming/outgoing shipments, and prepares items for shipment.
The hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $18-$20 an hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Motivate workers to enhance distribution and shipping activities, create a safe and friendly work environment while achieving standards of performance
- Make sure everyone operates efficiently and safely
- Ensure that shipments meet quality standards and timelines set by the customers
- Check finished orders to ensure accuracy, quality standards, and customer specifications are met
- Keep records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
- Prepare orders, print labels and sort and organize appropriate paperwork
- Monitor shipments to make sure all documentation is complete
- Schedule shipments and coordinate with supervisor and people involved
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting to ensure accuracy
- Distribute daily work orders
- Work as middle person between employees and management to create healthy communication
- Ensure that work materials are present when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Shipping experience
- Experience with NetSuite
- Excellent organization, communication and customer service skills
- Ability to coach workers
- Ability to make decisions is a fast pace environment
- High degree of accuracy
- High school diploma or GED
