Hamilton Connections is looking for a for a Senior Hardware Engineer for a manufacturing company in Waterbury area. This is a first shift position. $65k a year.
Job Description:
- Digital design of microprocessor display and control systems, including graphic displays and touch screens.
- Sensor system for heart rate detection, speed and position detection, and other fitness-related parameters.
- Motor controls for high-power AC, DC and brushless DC motors.
- Braking system for eddy current and other resistance technologies.
- Working with microprocessors, memory, digital and analog components, and high-power switching devices, such as ARM Processors, SDRAM, SPIFI, A/D and D/A converters, analog signal conditioning, high power FETs and drive circuits.
- Digital design and development of complex, high density, multi-layer, high-speed, mixed-signal and small form factor custom PCBs.
- Experience designing for EMI compliance and UL Standards.
- Participate in system architecture trade-off studies, including hardware/software, build/buy, and local/outsource manufacturing decisions.
- Write and maintain project-related design documentation.
- Schematic and PCB layout of circuit boards using in-house CAD systems.
- Specification and maintenance of parts libraries and integration with manufacturing.
- Testing and troubleshooting of hardware in the engineering lab and at customer integration sites.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident.
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8 Years post BS degree experience or 5 years post-MS degree experience in digital hardware design.
- Experience with high-speed, multi-layer digital hardware using ARM Processors, memories, A/D and D/A converters, analog signal conditioning, high power FETs and drive circuits.
- Experience with Schematic Capture / PCB layout CAD tools.
- Working knowledge of high-speed digital I/O.
- Familiarity with board startup, lab debug, validation techniques and tools (scopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
