Hamilton Connections is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer at a company in Bristol, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The hours are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $100,000-$130,000 a year(+ 10% bonus)depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for PLC program system design including drawings, BOM and panel layouts to support material handling equipment.
- Review project specifications with key stakeholders.
- Responsible for network designs – Ethernet I/P and Profibus.
- Communicate with internal and external team members and drive changes or decisions necessary for project execution.
- Coordinate and lead an internal team to execute the integration of the system.
- Travel to customer sites for system deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, programming or related experience is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in the Material Handling Industry is required.
- 5+ years of Allen-Bradley PLC Programming experience is required.
- Proficiency with motor controls and PowerFlex VFDs is required.
- Experience in HMI development and barcode scanning is preferred.
- Ability to work without direct supervision with a high degree of responsibility.
- Excellent problem solving, judgement making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working Conditions:
- Travel to customer sites throughout the US 20-25% of the time.
- Weekend and night work will be required on an as needed basis.
- Standing and working for long periods of time.
- Occasional climbing on steps, scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
- Sitting in and/or driving a vehicle for a long period of time.
- Working with a computer for a long period of time.
- Working in an office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
- Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
