We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screen Printer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire screen printing process, from preparing screens to operating printing machines and ensuring high-quality, consistent results. This role requires a strong understanding of screen printing techniques, excellent color matching skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Screen Preparation:
Prepare and coat screens with emulsion.
Burn and expose screens to create stencils.
Thoroughly clean and reclaim screens after each use.
Printing Operations:
Set up and operate manual and automatic screen printing presses.
Mix and match ink colors to meet specific job requirements and ensure color accuracy.
Load and unload substrates (e.g., fabric, plastic, metal) onto the press.
Monitor the printing process to ensure consistency, quality, and proper registration.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for defects, smudges, or inconsistencies.
Conduct test prints to verify accuracy and color before full production runs.
Maintain detailed records of completed jobs, materials used, and any quality issues.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment and work areas.
Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the production team, designers, and other departments to meet deadlines and project specifications.
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding progress, challenges, and material needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Screen Printer in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of screen printing techniques, materials, and equipment.
Proficiency in setting up and operating both manual and automatic presses.
Excellent color recognition and mixing skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical certification or vocational training in screen printing.
Experience with different types of inks (e.g., plastisol, water-based, UV curable).
Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) to assist with file preparation.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity for precise work.
Ability to work in an environment with ink and chemical fumes (with proper ventilation and PPE).
