Job Description

A well-established global manufacturing company in Fairfield County is seeking a full-time Procurement and Planning Officer to join their growing team. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply and will be contacted by a recruiter for further discussion.

Title: Procurement and Planning Officer

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Location: Fairfield County, CT
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively plan material purchases based on usage patterns, historical data, and cash flow considerations.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies, including the use of blanket purchase orders to streamline procurement.
  • Translate strategic demand forecasts from senior leadership and marketing into material requirements aligned with production planning.
  • Generate purchase requisitions for buyers.
  • Process outside service orders as required.
  • Participate actively as a member of the inventory control team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Source, issue, monitor, and expedite purchase orders and ensure timely receiving.
  • Monitor and report on supplier on-time delivery performance.
  • Manage and maintain hardware Kanban systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
  • 3–5 years in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate ERP systems.
Personal Attributes:
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Skilled at identifying cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
  • Able to anticipate market changes and respond with strategic procurement decisions.
