Title: Mechanical Engineering Support Specialist
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year
Location: Fairfield County, CT
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, ensuring coordination and execution across departments.
- Maintain ERP and product configuration databases for item masters, product structures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Assist in updating technical drawings based on redlines from Engineers and Project Managers
- Analyze proposed design changes and evaluate system-wide impacts
- Develop and implement configuration and data management policies and best practices.
- Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for engineering projects.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of new product configuration management software.
- Train team members on configuration management systems and procedures.
- Analyze proposed design changes and evaluate system-wide impacts.
- Support production teams with cost estimation tools and related procedures.
- Ensure engineering documentation complies with quality and change management protocols.
- Facilitate collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to manage product data effectively.
- Develop internal training materials for technical documentation and systems use
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- Associate degree with 10+ years of related experience in configuration/document management.
Technical Skills & Training
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
- Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar document management tools.
- Hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
