Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a mechanical assembler position at a manufacturing company in Newtown CT. This is a temp-to-hire position.
The hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $20-$25 an hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components using work instructions, diagrams and basic drawings
- Solder wires, terminals, connectors and small components
- Cut, strip, route and terminate wires using wire strippers, wire cutters, lug crimpers and similar tools
- Install small components and hardware in tight or difficult-to-reach areas within an assembly
- Properly use torque wrenches and common mechanical assembly tools
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality standards
- Report damaged parts, assembly issues or documentation discrepancies
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Work independently while cooperating with production, engineering and quality personnel
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Mechanical assembly and soldering experience
- Experience using basic electrical and mechanical hand tools
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, diagrams and basic drawings
- Strong attention to detail, patience and manual dexterity
- Ability to use hands and fingers to install small components in tight or difficult-to-reach areas within an assembly
- Ability to inspect completed work and identify basic workmanship issues
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team
- Able to pass pre-employment screenings
