Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a continuous improvement technician position at a manufacturing company in Danbury, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The continuous improvement technician uses lean manufacturing principles to design, build and improve upon work cells for all production areas, optimize the manufacturing process, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
The hours are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. The pay is $27-$30 an hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and build lean production work cells tailored to internal customer needs
- Contribute to improvements projects interacting and engaging with multiple departments
- Implement ideas generated by individuals, which positively impact safety, quality, ergonomics and efficiency
- Provide day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of the LEAN and mechanical workshop areas
- Assist maintenance technicians with production support as needed
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of LEAN and ergonomic concepts, regarding reach, positioning and placement of hand, wrist and arm during assembly processes
- Associates degree or higher in technical field of study
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and interpret basic written technical information and blueprints
- Ability to use hand tools as well as horizontal and vertical band saw, drill press, and miter saw
- Milling experience
- Welding experience
- CAD experience
- Ability to read and understand a basic tape measure: metric and standard
- Highly energized and self-motivated individual with customer service mindset
- Ability to use independent judgment to design, construct and test structures to support manufacturing operations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Able to follow all quality and safety requirements
- Able to work overtime when needed
- Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including some heavy lifting
