Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for machine operator for the overnight shift at a manufacturing company in Walden NY. These are temp-to-hire positions.
Machine operators are responsible for operating and maintaining converting machinery used in the manufacturing process, as well as ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standard.
Opportunities are also available for candidates with mechanical skills and knowledge to start as an assistant machine operator and receive machine operating training.
The hours are 5 p.m.-5 a.m., Monday-Friday. It’s a 60-hour work week with paid breaks. The salary is $19.50-$25 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely set up, operate and monitor converting machinery and equipment to meet production goals
- Complete converting machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings and calibrating equipment
- Monitor the production process, inspect and test materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met
- Verify and track all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently
- Train and provide guidance to machine assistants and new crew members
- Keep machinery and surrounding areas clean and organized
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, wear appropriate PPE as required, report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member
- Complete all necessary documentation for internal or external use
- Effectively work with other departments or team members to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise
- Other duties as assigned
Job Responsibilities:
- 2 or more years experience operating machines for production of products, such as converting machinery
- Experience setting up machines for production jobs, adjusting machine settings during production, and troubleshooting any machine issues during production
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Maintain confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information
- Exceptional time management, organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options
- Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including bending, stretching, reaching, standing, sitting, crawling, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work while wearing PPE when needed
