Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a brick cutting and bonding associate position at a company in Newtown, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The schedule is first shift, Monday-Friday. The salary is $40,000-$55,000 a year, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Use an auto-saw or a chop saw to cut bricks according to specifications
- Ensure saw is set up correctly to accommodate brick cuts as per production drawings
- Ensure all work carried out is logged
- When cutting from a template ensure that the finished brick matches the template before proceeding
- After first cut ensure dimensions match the drawings and are also within tolerance
- At end of shift ensure saw is cleaned down ready for next shift/operator
- Prepare bench and ensure it is ready for bonding
- Refer to the production drawings making sure the bricks match each drawing specified
- Ensure that the correct mechanical fix components are in place
- Bond the unit following the bond pattern on production drawing
- Ensure bricks are a straight level with equal distance between joints and mechanical fix components are in correct places (ensure mechanical fix components are not buried in glue)
- Ensure, when the glue is cured, the panels are moved and the bench is cleared for the next job
- Attach the operator label with your name on to verify unit is finished
- Adhere to ISO 9001 standards, take responsibility for quality checks and record-keeping
- Work to agreed tolerances as stated on drawings
- Keep reliable production records and ensure all work completed is recorded properly
- Ensure all non-conformances are reported to the team leader or other relevant team members and that appropriate action is taken
- Support other departments when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Strong masonry, manufacturing or similar experience
- Experience operating saws
- Able to read and work from blueprints and schematics
- Valid passport and willing to travel overseas for training, if necessary
- Excellent computer skills and experience with ERP software
