Hamilton Connections is looking for a continuous improvement lean technician for a manufacturing company in Danbury, CT. The continuous improvement lean assembler uses lean manufacturing principles to design, build and improve upon work cells for all production areas, optimize the manufacturing process, and lead continuous improvement efforts. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The schedule is first shift, Monday-Friday. The pay is $25-$30 an hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and build lean production work cells tailored to internal customer needs
- Contribute to improvements projects by working with multiple departments
- Implement ideas that positively impact safety, quality, ergonomics and efficiency
- Provide day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of workshop areas
- Assist maintenance technicians with production support as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Experience with lean manufacturing and ergonomic concepts regarding reach, positioning, and placement of hand, wrist and arm during assembly processes
- Experience designing and implementing LEAN production methods
- Associate’s degree or higher; or high school diploma and 2 years technical experience in manufacturing/advance manufacturing technology certificate
- Assembly experience and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and interpret basic written technical information
- Ability to use basic hand tools, horizontal and vertical band saw, drill press and miter saw
- Milling experience a plus
- AutoCad experience a plus
- Ability to read and understand metric and standard tape measures
- Highly energized, self-motivated and organized
- Ability to use independent judgment to support manufacturing operations
