Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a buyer position at a manufacturing company in Newtown, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The position is a full-time, on-site role. The hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $60,000-$70,000, based on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials based on evaluation of suppliers for price, quality, availability, etc.
- Analyze and interpret production and planning data
- Create, issue and manage purchase orders
- Negotiate with vendors and develop vendor agreements
- Work with suppliers for deliveries and resolve shipping errors
- Maintain records of purchases and inventories
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Strong experience in purchasing and supplier negotiation
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience analyzing and interpreting production and planning data using Syteline or similar ERP systems
- Ability to create, issue and manage purchase orders for both inventory and non-inventory items
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on follow-through and expediting orders
- Experience purchasing for a manufacturer preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to reduce costs while maintaining quality and delivery standards
- Experience developing vendor agreements to lower transportation costs for incoming materials
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Able to pass pre-employment screenings
