Hamilton Connections is seeking candidates for a staff accountant opening at a manufacturing company in Newtown, CT. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
The schedule is 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $60,000-$70,000 a year, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities:
• Process daily customer invoices
• Upload invoice details to procurement portals
• Manage accounts receivable collections and customer follow-up
• Perform customer credit checks
• Process customer credit card transactions
• Apply cash receipts and research unapplied payments as needed
• Initiate and/or verify ACH and wire transfers
• Perform daily bank downloads and updates
• Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales and property tax returns
• Manage annual 1099 processing and reporting
• Support external audits with documentation, schedules and reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with variance reporting and analysis
• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities
• Support special projects and process improvements within the finance department
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (Infor SyteLine experience a plus)
• Ability to manage deadlines and work with high accuracy
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings
